A little warmer, with lots of sunshine

Aside from a few high clouds early Wednesday, we’re waking up to mostly sunny skies across southeast Nebraska. The sunshine will stick around for yet another day. We may also see some fair-weather cumulus clouds during the afternoon. Winds will be light and variable.

Hour by Hour

Although dew points should rise slightly, it still won’t feel oppressively humid. It will also be a warmer day with highs in the upper-80s to near 90° across the area.

Wednesday Forecast

We’ll turn even warmer on Thursday, and skies will remain mostly sunny for much of the day. That said, our next disturbance will be lurking to the west. Showers and storms appear likely on Thursday night in western parts of the state. As of now, it appears Lincoln will have to wait at least until overnight Thursday or Friday to see any of these storms.

Stormcast Thursday Evening

We can’t rule out scattered storms both on Friday and Saturday as a series of upper-level waves pass through. As a result, we’ll also see temperatures drop by a couple of degrees.

While lingering showers aren’t totally impossible on Father’s Day, the latest data suggest that things begin to dry out as the day wears on. This bodes well if you have any outdoor plans with Dad. Hopefully, we’ll be able to see some rain in the days prior.
