A local yoga class for cancer survivors

Once a month a group of strong women come together for a one hour free yoga session.
The reason why these women are so special is that all of them have either beaten cancer, or they are in the midst of fighting.
“When we’re down we need our circle of friends our circle of people to come around us, and lift us up. And when we’re on the mountain top we need those circle of people to be clapping for us and encouraging us,” said Anita Whittle
For Anita who has been hosting this yoga class for several years, helping these women in need is what makes this class so special.
“I get to see them comeback month after month and some of them have been coming for a couple of years. It’s exciting when they come up and they go, ’60 days past treatment’ and they look good and they look healthy and they feel good and we’re here together as a community,” said Anita Whittle
That family feel that is present at every class, no matter how big or small is what makes these women keep coming back.
“The comradery with the other members that come. To see that I’m not the only one that’s going through this,” added Monica Hanson
With that family feel, these students experience more than just yoga, they experience a healing.
“It is unbelievable the reward that I get from coming here. Just this one hour a month just improves my whole well being,” said Monica Hanson
