A LOVE-ly forecast for Valentine’s Day
The weekend ended on a cooler note, with temperatures topping out in the middle-30s in Lincoln on Sunday. We did see a few 40s, but those were mainly in communities near the Tri-Cities.
Similar to Saturday evening, we will have to contend with a few clouds on Sunday evening. However, these will depart in the overnight hours. Many will be waking up to clear skies on Monday morning, with a low in the lower-20s.
We’re looking at mostly sunny skies for the day on Valentine’s Day. Temperatures will be warmer, as high temperatures will likely top out in the middle-40s in Lincoln.
While the majority of Monday features lots of sunshine, clouds begin to increase again on Monday evening. We’ll stay dry, which bodes well for any Valentine’s Day plans during the evening. Temperatures will start out in the mid to upper-30s around 6PM and drop to the upper-20s to low-30s by 8PM.
Clouds will remain across the area on Tuesday, and temperatures will continue to warm into the upper-50s. By Tuesday evening, a cold front approaches that will drop temperatures starting Wednesday.
This looks like dry frontal passage, as the bulk of any precipitation should develop to our east on Wednesday. While we cannot completely rule out a flurry in southeast Nebraska, we’ll be battling dry air which will make widespread precipitation hard to come by on Wednesday night.
Either way, we will be cooler Wednesday and Thursday – before we embark upon another warmup!
