A morning round of severe weather
Strong to severe storms will move through portions of eastern Nebraska on Wednesday morning. These storms will be approaching and moving through the Omaha metro closer to sunrise and the morning commute. Some of these storms may clip the Lincoln area during or shortly before the morning commute, too.
Wind and hail are the primary concerns with the morning round of severe weather, with a greater emphasis on the wind threat. While we cannot completely rule out an isolated tornado, that threat is lower overall.
Lingering storms will be possible through the rest of the morning, some of which could be strong. However, rain chances will diminish into the afternoon. Nevertheless, a few spotty shower can’t be ruled out.
We will see a mixture of sun and clouds on Wednesday afternoon, along with high temperatures in the middle-80s. It will be humid as well, which could put heat indices into the 90s.
Storm chances do remain in the forecast for the remainder of the week, with many of those chances just being small ones. Nevertheless, a few waves of storms will be possible through late week and into this weekend. The hope is that you’ll see at least some rainfall during that time.
