A new church influenced by Mr. Rogers

 A new church near the Fallbrook area opened their doors in inspiration from a familiar name to all. The Neighbors church, was recently started this year by Trever Rook and his wife Allison, and it’s a little bit different than your average church.

The husband and wife duo started this church because they were influenced by Mr. Rogers.

"Go back to the deep and simple message of Fred Rogers which means you’ve made every day a special day just being who you are," says Trever. 

Trever and Allison’s goal when they started this church was to make a place that was inclusive for everyone.

"Our mission is to create a church that has a deep and simple message loving ourselves, loving god and loving all of our neighbors," said Allison. 

For the members of the Neighbors church the simplicity of that message is why they keep coming back.

"It’s about keeping it simple with Mr. Rogers and just seeing people for who they are and being ok with that," said member Julann Pellan. 

While the size of the members gets up to only around twenty people, the message of love for everyone reaches much more.

"We think it’s actually possible to create an environment where someone on this side of the fence can actually meet together and find common ground," added Trever.
