A Rainy And Windy Tuesday Ahead

Gusty NW winds up to 40 mph will pick up this morning and peak this evening. Expect those winds to stay strong through Wednesday, before calming down.

Rainy and windy conditions will persist through this afternoon and evening. Rain showers will look to be out by late this evening, with the winds continuing their strength near 40 mph.

Rain totals will range from 0.50″- 1.00″+ for most of us through Tuesday night. The best chance to see an inch or more will be localized areas and east of Lincoln.

Rainfall Potential State

This afternoon, Temperatures will stay relatively consistent in the 50s. For the rest of October, highs are expected to stay fairly consistent, ranging from the lower 50s to around 60 degrees.

Tonight, expect colder temperatures in the low to upper 30s under cloudy skies and a NW breeze 15-25 mph. The cold front will make temperatures out west a bit colder, in the 20s.

Take a look at CAT 5 hurricane Melissa this morning! Hurricane Melissa is now one of the top 10 STRONGEST Category 5 storms — the most powerful ever to hit Jamaica. The hurricane currently has a minimum central pressure of 901 mb, with sustained winds near 170 mph and gusts reaching 180 mph. Melissa is located just off the coast of Jamaica this morning and is expected to make landfall later this morning.

Expect a rainy and windy Tuesday across eastern Nebraska. Wednesday, gusty winds will continue before calming down Thursday. Thursday looks to be BEAUTIFUL! Temperatures in the upper 50s, calmer winds and lots of SUNSHINE! Halloween is on track to be chilly and dry. A warm up is forecasted for early November with a potential system moving in near November 6-8.
