A warm spell next week that will last several days

Temperatures topped out slightly cooler on Sunday compared to Saturday in the capital city. Lincoln only managed to make it to 30°, but locations off to the west were able to make it into the middle-30s. For instance, Grand Island made it to 37°.

Skies will remain mostly clear overnight and into Monday morning. Low temperatures on Monday morning should be near 14° in Lincoln – on par with the average low of 14°.

Sunday Night Forecast

Monday appears to be another mostly sunny day. Temperatures will start to warm on Monday afternoon. We’re anticipating highs in the upper-30s in Lincoln. The coolest temperatures on Monday will be in the eastern third of Nebraska. Locations to the west in the central part of the state (e.g. Tri-Cities) may achieve 40°+ temperatures on Monday.

Monday Forecast

Temperatures continue to climb on Tuesday, starting a warm spell that will last for several days. High temperatures will likely exceed 50° Tuesday through Thursday!

Mid-Week Warmup

The upper-air feature that is, in part, responsible for this warmup will back off by Friday, opening the door for a disturbance to arrive.

This should have the effect of cooling things off to close out the week while introducing a small rain/snow chance for Friday. Although there is a chance to see some precipitation, a lot has to go right in order to see it. So while there is a small chance, Friday does look mostly dry – and if you can see something, it likely won’t amount to much.
