Affidavit: Drunk and ‘belligerent’ Lincoln woman tries to leave baby in car at strip club

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was cited Sunday night after deliberately leaving a child in her car while visiting a strip club, an affidavit says.
At 11 p.m., officers were called to The Office Gentleman’s Club, where the bouncer said a drunk woman stumbled out of the club and got in a car with a child.
When officers arrived, they found the car with the lights off and the right blinker on, according to the affidavit.
Police said officers walked up to the vehicle and found the woman sitting in the driver’s seat with the car in drive. Officers also found an infant crying in the back seat.
It was apparent the woman was very intoxicated, according to the affidavit.
Officers told the woman to get out of the car, but she refused. Police said they had to use “substantial force” to pull the woman out of the vehicle and place her under arrest.

The police interviewed the bouncer, who said when they asked for the woman’s ID for entry, she gave them her car keys, meaning she left the child in the car with no heat.
It was 30 degrees outside, according to the affidavit.
The bouncer denied the woman entry, and she went back to her vehicle to get her ID. A short time later, the bouncer went over to the woman and said the bar would not serve her alcohol.
That is when the bouncer noticed there was a child in the back seat, according to the affidavit.
The bouncer also mentioned that at some point the woman fell down, laid in the middle of the road and was bleeding.
The woman was taken to jail, where she was tested for her blood alcohol level. Throughout the whole process, the woman was “belligerent and disrespectful,” the affidavit says.
Police said the woman willingly placed the child in danger, which could have resulted in serious injury or death.
Officers were able to contact a responsible adult to come pick up the child.
The woman was lodged in jail on suspicion of child abuse, resisting arrest and second-offense DUI.
