Affidavit: Grand Island man stole GoPro, tried to sell it on Facebook

Christopher Martin

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Grand Island man was arrested Wednesday after police say he stole from a manufacturing company more than once.

Christopher Martin, 36, was charged with two counts of burglary, and his bond was set at $50,000.

On May 14, a burglary was reported at Chief Buildings near Cannon and North roads.

According to an arrest affidavit, someone had pried the door open and stole items from several office cubicles.

One of the items taken was a GoPro Hero 8, which police said was valued at $400.

On Tuesday, another burglary was reported in the same building.

According to the affidavit, someone entered the building during the night and stole several items, including a men’s diamond ring with a Chief logo.

A man matching the description of Martin was seen on a security camera, police said, and Martin’s public Facebook account had a GoPro Hero 8 for sale.

Police said they searched Martin’s home on Wednesday and found the GoPro, the diamond ring and multiple sets of office keys with Chief Buildings markings.

Martin was also wearing the same shoes that the man was wearing in the security footage, according to the affidavit.

He was arrested and taken to the Hall County Jail.
