Affidavit: Illinois man points gun at trucker in road rage incident near Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An Illinois man was arrested Wednesday after a road rage incident involving a gun just outside of Lincoln.
Just before 1:30 p.m., deputies with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the area of Highway 2 and Highway 77.
The victim said he was driving his semitrailer south on Highway 77 when a man in a black Ford F-150 pulled up beside him and pointed a handgun at him.
According to an arrest affidavit, a deputy saw the black pickup farther south on Highway 77 and pulled it over at Stagecoach Road.
The driver, 39-year-old Jacob Gumm, said the driver of the semi tried to cut him off in traffic multiple times, according to the affidavit.
So deputies said Gumm pointed his Glock 23 at the victim while they were driving next to each other.
He even rolled down his window to make sure the victim could see the gun pointed toward him, according to the affidavit.
The deputy searched Gumm’s vehicle and found a loaded Glock 23 behind the passenger seat.
Gumm was booked in the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of terroristic threats.
