Affidavit: Lancaster County woman caught with revolver, fentanyl powder after chase

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman is facing several felony charges after a chase Tuesday across Lancaster County, court documents say.
Around 5:30 p.m., investigators with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force followed a vehicle until it parked near 8th Street and Pioneers Boulevard.
The driver, 45-year-old Lorinda James, was suspected of having fentanyl powder, according to an arrest affidavit. The vehicle’s plates also expired in February.
When investigators turned on their lights, James drove out of the parking stall and through a grass yard, the affidavit said.
Officers chased James as she drove toward southeast Lancaster County. Police said she took multiple turns in an attempt to evade authorities.
Eventually, James arrived at her home near 148th Street and Pine Lake Road, where investigators were already conducting surveillance.
James ran into the house after investigators pulled into the driveway, according to the affidavit. She came out around 7 p.m. and was taken into custody.
Authorities served a search warrant at the home and found two amphetamine pills, fentanyl powder and a revolver, the affidavit said.
James is a previously convicted felon and can’t own weapons.
She was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
A Lancaster County judge set James’ bond at $200,000, meaning she must pay $20,000 to be released from jail.
