Affidavit: Man arrested after calling in bomb threat to north Lincoln apartment complex

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man appeared in court on Friday after police say he called in a bomb threat to his former apartment complex.
Aaron Hamer, 38, was charged with one count of felony terroristic threats and his bond was set at 10% of $35,000.
On Wednesday, officers were sent to the Bridgeport Apartments near 14th and Superior streets just before 11 a.m. for a bomb threat.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue was also sent to the complex to clear the building, but didn’t find anything.
An employee at the apartment complex said Hamer left a voicemail the previous night stating that he left a bomb in their office, the affidavit says.
The employee said the number that left the voicemail was the same number they had on file for Hamer.
According to court documents, Hamer was a former tenant of the complex and was evicted in January.
Prior to the voicemail being left, Hamer went to the leasing office on Tuesday asking about a deposit check that wasn’t returned to him, according to police.
Just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, police were called back to the apartment complex after Hamer showed up to demand his deposit check once again.
According to the affidavit, Hamer appeared “agitated and angry.”
Hamer denied making the phone call and said his phone was hacked, court documents say.
According to police, Hamer was arrested after initially refusing to put on handcuffs.
He is set to appear in court again on May 12 at 10 a.m.
