Affidavit: Man caught with drugs, stolen SUV and medieval weapons in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A wanted man was caught Saturday with various weapons at a Lincoln gas station, court documents say.
Around midnight, officers on a routine patrol near 13th and South streets saw a Ford Escape with stolen license plates parked at U-Stop.
The officers approached the driver, 56-year-old Jack Cain, and ordered him to exit the vehicle, according to an arrest affidavit.
After initially disobeying the officers’ commands, he exited the SUV. Cain tried resisting arrest but was eventually taken into custody, police said.
Investigators then learned that Cain was wanted on five active arrest warrants. The Ford was also reported stolen in Greenwood.
Officers searched the vehicle and found amphetamines, cash, drug paraphernalia and a scale, according to police.
Several weapons — including a handgun, a garrote and a morningstar — were also discovered, the affidavit alleges.
Cain, who has a previous felony conviction, is barred from owning any weapons.
He was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including theft and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
A Lancaster County judge set Cain’s bond at $850,000, meaning he must pay $85,000 to be released from jail.
