Affidavit: Man caught with stolen vehicle after chase with troopers in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Thursday after leading troopers on a chase in a stolen vehicle in Lincoln, court documents say.
Two Nebraska State Patrol troopers were in downtown Lincoln when they spotted a vehicle weaving back and forth, an arrest affidavit alleges.
The troopers tried pulling over the vehicle once it started speeding, according to the affidavit.
But the driver — later identified as 40-year-old Brian Gray — refused to stop, and the troopers chased after him.
During the chase, Gray went through multiple red lights and passed other drivers at “a high rate of speed,” the affidavit says.
A trooper eventually used their cruiser to bring Gray to a stop near 141st Street and Raymond Road, authorities said.
Gray was taken into custody, and investigators learned that the vehicle was reported stolen in Lincoln, according to the affidavit.
He was arrested on suspicion of felony theft and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.
A Lancaster County judge set Gray’s bond at $50,000, meaning he must pay $5,000 to be released from jail.
