Affidavit: Woman embezzled over $30,000 from Lincoln company

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was arrested Wednesday after embezzling over $30,000 from a Lincoln company, court documents say.
Jamie Braley, 38, was lodged in the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of felony theft, according to booking records.
According to an arrest affidavit, an officer with the Lincoln Police Department received a report of an embezzlement at Spreetail on May 16.
Staff discovered that Braley, a senior payroll and benefit specialist at the company, was embezzling funds, the affidavit alleges.
Investigators later learned that between Nov. 1 and May 1, Braley deposited $35,265 into her bank accounts in seven different transactions, authorities said.
The affidavit alleges that Braley attempted to conceal her activity by using a terminated employee’s ID in the ledger for the extra paychecks.
An arrest warrant for Braley was issued on Sept. 18 and she was taken into custody on Wednesday.
