After starting in home, Lincoln day care opens its own location

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln child care center opened a new, much bigger location Wednesday afternoon.

What started out as a home day care has blossomed into a 60-student child care center in its own space.

And Eden Child Care Center is no ordinary day care; it’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“It helps moms, especially single moms, and I want to support them,” founder Hibah Jabbar said. “That’s why I’m open 24 hours.”

Eden is also a dual-language day care, supporting both English and Arabic-speaking families with children up to 13 years old.

It worked in partnership with Lincoln Littles and ECHO Collective, a nonprofit helping refugee and immigrant women, to get this operation up and running.

“This is a dream come true,” Jabbar said.

The center is currently taking applications.
