ALDI peaches recalled after almost 70 people contract Salmonella

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has posted a new food safety alert for a Salmonella outbreak linked to bagged peaches. Several states are investigating this outbreak that has sickened at least 68 people in nine different states. Fourteen of the infected individuals have been hospitalized.
Most of those who fell ill reported buying bagged peaches sold at ALDI grocery stores. ALDI has since voluntarily recalled Wawona-brand bagged peaches. which are believed to be the cause of the outbreak. The peaches were also available through Instacart.
The CDC advises you to not eat, serve, or sell any of these recalled peaches, but to throw them away even if you have eaten some and did not suffer symptoms.
This investigation into the Salmonella outbreak is ongoing to determine if other products or retailers are linked to illness.
