Bruce Springsteen traveled to Hastings and a few other locations in south-central Nebraska to shoot a Chrysler Jeep commercial for the Super Bowl. Laurie Richards, Nebraska Film Office Director, says the state’s regional airports continue to be a draw for production experts.
Discovery filmed in Nebraska for three different TV shows. The infamous Argo Hotel in Crofton was featured on “Ghost Hunters”. The 100th anniversary of the state park system was commemorated by showing the natural beauty of Arbor Day Lodge, Platte River State Park, Victoria Springs and Chadron State Park. The parks were featured on an episode of “RV There Yet”. Finally, the Hartington region was on “Heartland Docs” for the third year, and locals say they look forward to the cast and crew’s return for a fourth season.
Chad Bishoff, an Omaha native, directed a psychological thriller co-written by Sam Harter called Daft State, which was filmed in Omaha. It is expected to be released soon.
A huge cast list was starring in a feature film called Bones and All that was shot in the Crawford and Chadron area. Timotheé Chalamet, Mark Rylance, Michael Stuhlbarg, André Holland, Jessica Harper, Chloë Sevigny, Francesca Scorsese, David Gordon Green, Anna Cobb and Jake Horowitz will be in the movie. The film was directed by Luca Guardagnino and written and produced by David Kajganich. The plot of the movie follows Maren — a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society — and Lee, an intense and disenfranchised drifter, and their love story as they embark on a 1,000-mile odyssey that takes them through the back roads, hidden passages and trap doors of Ronald Reagan’s America. It was mentioned that the actors loved the catering by Dairy Sweet.
