(LINCOLN, Neb.)- Parents and students are visiting a local art store for supplies during the pandemic.
An art store helped many families stay busy at the start of the pandemic and now the store will help many students as they prepare for classes. Gomez art supply store sells easels, paper, and more.

At the start of the pandemic, parents have come in for art kits and paper, for children. When other stores ran out, Gomez had the goods.
“We sold a lot of sidewalk chalk and origami paper,” said Peggy Gomez, owner.
During the protests, her markers and posters were a hot commodity. Now, incoming college students are some of the top customers.
“Lots of new faces,” said Gomez. “People just coming in, looking around, checking it out. They’re buying blank journals or lined journals or dot  journals and pens right now, trying to get ready for the semester.”
She says when the influx of college students comes, there will be a pay station outside and inside to keep everyone safe.
“We normally have two registers inside for back to school,” says Gomez. “So, we’re gonna try to have one outside. Then, we’re gonna have a kit runner. So you can walk up and say, ‘I need a kit’, and someone will run in and get it and you can take care of that transaction outside.”
Gomez has curbside pick up orders available and says there will be back to school kits available for college art students soon, but all can stock up at her shop.
