Annual Christmas Tree Pick-up Drive

Boy Scout Troop 8 will provide the Annual Christmas Tree Pick–up in the Lincoln area.

Troop 282, in Omaha is also providing the service, and have been doing so since 1998 with other troops joining in 2010 and in 2014.

During that time they’ve collected 20,000 trees.

Boy Scouts and volunteers will be collecting trees starting January 1st from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., except on Sunday’s, which will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Tree pick up dates are as follows:

Dec. 29th (done)

Dec. 30th (done)

January 1st

January 5th

January 6th 

January 7th

Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance.

The drive is for recycling and ecological service projects.

Trees are taken to drop of sites, where they’re ground, chipped or used as fish habitat for area lakes.
