Annual StarCity Baconfest held at Cornhusker hotel in downtown Lincoln

Hundreds of bacon lovers opened up their pocket books for a chance to eat like a king for a few hours.

“There’s a lot of different combinations. So every table is a different flavor,” said Tim Chancellor, President of the Nebraska Pork Producers Association.

Sunday night was the StarCity Baconfest at the Cornhusker hotel in downtown Lincoln.

It’s hosted each year, by the Nebraska Pork Producers Association.

There was a record number of chefs cooking up all kinds of different recipes that include bacon to sizzle those taste buds.

For just 25 dollars, people could sample as much as they wanted.

“This year, for the first time, there’s some students here from Pro–start that are involved in the cooking so it’s really exciting,” said Chancellor.

All proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for local culinary students.

There were lots of goodies given away.

Door prizes, grill giveaways, gift certificates and one lucky person won bacon for an entire year!
