Annual Wish Ball helps to make the dreams of children come true

On Saturday night, hundreds of people gathered in downtown Lincoln to help grant the wishes of sick children.
“It just shows that a lot of people throughout the state of Nebraska really care about people like Ellie who have gone through a lot with cancer and also just supporting things that happen throughout the state,” said Jenna Paschta, Ellie’s mother.
It was the annual Wish Ball at the Embassy suites.
Make a wish Nebraska helps to grant more than 100 wishes in the cornhusker state each year.
The guest of honor was Ellie Paschta, a three-year-old girl from Hebron who is dealing with a rare form of eye cancer.
Ellie’s wish was granted on Saturday night.
“Ellie’s wish was to go to Disney world and go see the castle and Minnie and Mickey Mouse, it just means a lot to have her wish granted, and not just the support from the whole state, but also the people who were here tonight,” said Jenna Paschta.
Channel 8’s own Rod Fowler was in attendance.
There was a live and silent auction that included some cool husker sports items!
Former coach Tom Osborne was there, he gave a speech during the main event.
All the proceeds raised goes toward granting wishes in the state of Nebraska.
