Anonymous California resident wins $1.08 billion Powerball jackpot
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – One lucky person is now the recipient of Powerball’s $1.08 billion prize after turning in a winning ticket.
The winning Numbers for Wednesday night’s drawing were: 7, 10, 11, 13, 24, and the red Powerball 24.
California Lottery posted to Twitter that the winning ticket was sold at Las Palmitas Mini Market in Los Angeles, California. The winner has chosen to remain anonymous so far.
Final ticket sales pushed the jackpot beyond its earlier estimate of $1 billion to $1.08 billion at the time of the drawing.
That moved it from the seventh largest to the sixth largest U.S. jackpot ever won.
The winner has the option to either choose the total jackpot, paid out in yearly increments, or a $558.1 million one-time lump sum, before taxes.
