Another bright, warm afternoon
What a chilly start across southeast Nebraska! Lincoln was able to make it down to 44°, two degrees below the average low temperature for this time of year.
Like Monday, Tuesday will feature sunny skies for much of the day. This should allow temperatures to rise to the upper-70s and perhaps close to 80° in some locations.
However, a disturbance sends some low clouds our way starting Tuesday evening. Although we’ll still be mostly clear during the evening hours, skies become mostly clear to partly cloudy overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday. This should result in low temperatures that are slightly warmer on Wednesday, near 54° in Lincoln.
Partly cloudy skies appear likely on Wednesday. Some versions of Stormcast are suggesting that we may see a few isolated sprinkles on Wednesday. These will be widely scattered and will not produce any meaningful rainfall. In fact, most will be successful in dodging these sprinkles.
Long-term trends keep us dry and warm to close out the week. A cold front arrives late Saturday and into Sunday which drops temperatures and opens the door for a series of disturbances that could bring rain next week.
