Another COVID death reported, case count remains low

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A second death has been reported by the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) following our community’s 10-day streak with no fatalities. The total death count is now at 223.
The individual has been identified as a woman in her 80s who was at home.
LLCHD also announced 44 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the community total to 28,714.
More than 14,800 people have recovered from the virus, with more than 111,000 vaccines administered. Lancaster County is expected to receive a total of 8,200 doses this week.
This week’s positivity rate is 20.1%.
Twenty-three COVID patients are currently hospitalized (16 from Lancaster County). One patient is on a ventilator.
