Another hot day, then turning significantly cooler
After several days without much variation in the day-to-day weather, changes are on the way soon. However, we’ve still got one more hot and sunny day to get through first.
It will be a hazy and sunny Thursday, with high temperatures in the low to mid-90s across southeast Nebraska. The humidity may be a touch lower compared to recent days, which will push temperatures a few degrees warmer.
On Thursday night, we expect mostly clear skies. However, we will be watching a batch of cloudiness to the west, which may pass overhead early Friday. We’re looking for a low in the lower and middle-60s on Friday morning in Lincoln.
While Lincoln likely stays dry for the vast majority of Friday, showers will be possible to the north and west as a front clears the area.
High temperatures on Friday have decent bust potential as they depend on the timing of a cold front. Those in far southeast Nebraska have a good chance of reaching the 90s. However, areas north and west of Lincoln will see the front pass sooner, potentially resulting in 70s for highs.
As the front continues to pull away on Saturday, we’re watching the potential for a band of precipitation to set up in southeast Nebraska. There are decent rain chances on Saturday, which could keep temperatures in the 60s.
