Another section of Normal Boulevard closing in east Lincoln as project enters final stretch

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The city provided updates Tuesday on several street projects, including repairs on Normal Boulevard.
The Lincoln Transportation and Utilites Department said starting Wednesday, Normal Boulevard will be closed between Van Dorn and 70th streets.
The closure marks the final stage of the Lincoln on the Move project on Normal.
LTU said crews have finished pavement repair between 33rd and 56th streets.
Milling work in the eastbound lane from 56th to 62nd Street is complete, and concrete repairs are now underway there.
Crews are still working around several traffic signals in the area, the city said, and new signals are scheduled to be activated at 40th Street later this week.
The full closure from Van Dorn to 70th is expected to last until mid-August. Drivers are recommended to use Van Dorn as a detour.
LTU said the entire project is scheduled to be done in the fall.
