April morning showers with cooler days ahead

Most of the rain and thunderstorms from overnight had moved on by early Thursday morning, with spotty, light showers leftover. Light rain throughout the morning will be possible off and on across eastern Nebraska until clearing cloud cover early this afternoon.

Spotty Am Stormcast

Temperatures will feel cooler with a decent north wind especially as you’re starting out today.

Thursday Planner

By the early afternoon, we’ll see clearing skies with more sun for the afternoon and evening. That will only help temperatures a little, though. Highs will be in the upper 50s. Friday will feature more cloud cover returning but with less wind.

Next 2 Days

This weekend will be about 30 degrees colder than the upper 80s we saw last weekend. The wind remains at bay for a majority of the weekend, too. A quieter weather pattern will bring the sun back to stay for most of the weekend.

Weekend Forecast

Mentioning a cooler timeframe through the weekend and early next week, I wanted to point out that we are expected to be above normal for the end of April into May. Nebraska and several states to the south are in good standing for better chances of above average temperatures in the 8-14 day temperature outlook.

Cpc D8 D14 Temps

Storm chances will return on Monday, and occasionally through the end of next week as well. We’ll be keeping an eye on it all – and as Nebraska’s Spring Game happens next Saturday.
