Arbor Day celebrations continue at home this year

The foundation will be planting trees for people who use the #ArborDayAtHome hashtag.

Despite social distancing, arbor day celebrations are still going on…this year with the help of social media.

The foundation will be planting 50,000 trees in honor of the holiday, they’ll be planted through the foundation’s reforestation program, which prioritizes U.S. forests recovering from fire, storms, and other threats.

To get a tree planted in your name is as simple as a hashtag. The Foundation will plant one tree for each Facebook, Instagram or Twitter user who posts a picture of a tree using the hashtag #ArborDayAtHome

The Arbor Day Foundation plants some 30 million trees a year around the globe, and it all happens from our home right here in a Lincoln.
