Arbor Day Farm celebrates all things apple with Applejack Festival

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (KLKN) — The Arbor Day Farm staff says the Fall season is finally here.

To kick off the season visitors can come to experience two weekends of the Applejack Festival.

Fans of all things apples came out to take in what the notorious orchard had to offer.

Marketing specialist Connie Van Nostrand said that it’s more than just the farm that everyone is celebrating.

“The Applejack Festival is a really big celebration of the entire community of Nebraska City,” she said. “It’s a great time to come out and experience the entire city.”

Van Nostrand said that being a part of the farm is a big way to celebrate, she recommends that first-time visitors go with their families through the Tree Adventure.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to get people out in the trees having fun,” Van Nostrand said.

The long trail has plenty of stops for visitors to rest their feet while their little ones play through attractions like the wooden ensemble or the rope zip lines.

“There are a lot of people here and a lot of people come back every year,” she said. “It’s just a great tradition and a great memory.”

After taking a trip through the Tree Adventure, families can spread out through the orchard to test their hands in apple picking, or take a trip to the Apple House to buy all types of souvenirs both edible and not.
