Arizona man sentenced in Nebraska for mailing more than 1,400 fentanyl pills

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Arizona man was sentenced in Lincoln on Thursday for sending more than 1,400 fentanyl pills to Nebraska.
Marcus Richardson, 25, got six years in federal prison with a three-year term of supervised release for conspiracy to money launder.
In January 2023, Nebraska State Patrol investigators were notified by Drug Enforcement Administration agents in Phoenix about a suspicious package being sent from Richardson to someone in Lincoln.
The package arrived and was immediately seized by DEA agents.
While searching the package, investigators found 993 fake oxycodone pills that contained fentanyl.
Richardson had sent at least two other packages to Nebraska in prior months that contained 500 similar pills.
After the sale of the pills, the distributors would send money back to Richardson in Arizona.
The money would be used to buy more pills to be sent to Nebraska for sale.
