LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The associate athletic director of Midland University was arrested Wednesday in connection with a sexual assault.

Steven Heimann, 50, paid a $10,000 bail the same day to be released from custody, court records say.

A warrant had been issued for his arrest a week earlier.

Heimann is accused of drugging a woman with sleeping pills at a Fremont home in October.

Court documents allege that while she was incapacitated, he raped her and recorded it.

Midland said last week that Heimann was on administrative leave.

“The alleged charges do not involve anyone associated with Midland University,” the university said in a statement. “Midland University takes these allegations and the safety and security of our campus community very seriously.”

Heiman is charged with first-degree sexual assault and intentionally filming a person without consent.

He is set to appear in Dodge County Court on June 25.
