Associate AD at Midland University wanted in sexual assault
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The associate athletic director of Midland University is accused of raping a woman and recording it.
A judge issued a warrant on Tuesday for Steven Heimann’s arrest on a charge of first-degree sexual assault.
Court documents allege that in October, Heimann drugged a woman with sleeping pills at a Fremont home.
While she was incapacitated, he assaulted her, according to an arrest affidavit.
The Fremont Police Department said Heimann recorded the assault on his cellphone.
Midland University said Heimann is on administrative leave.
It released the following statement:
Midland University became aware of details today involving charges filed against Steve Heimann, Associate Athletic Director. He has been placed on administrative leave effectively immediately. The alleged charges do not involve anyone associated with Midland University. Midland University takes these allegations and the safety and security of our campus community very seriously. Midland will have no further comment at this time as the legal process plays out.
