LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —Lincoln North Star’s point guard Jordan Castor is leading the way for the Navigators to begin the season.

Right now, Lincoln North star is off to a 3-1 start. Through those four games, Castor has found ways to navigate this offense by leading the team in points, assists, and steals.

“With this start right now, I’m getting a lot of downhill looks,” Castor said. “Right now, that’s going to open it up for my teammates. That’s where I get those assists, and my teammates get those points and we’re just rolling like that.”

In the second game of the season, Castor posted a season high 16 assists, paired with 10 points vs. Grand Island. He also scored 20 points in this past Friday nights win vs. Lincoln High, while only attempting nine field goals.

The junior is averaging 18.3 points per game, and 8.0 assists per game. But, he’s doing it all efficiently, shooting 56% from the field.

While Castor has become a leader on this squad, he says the team is finding ways to lead each other.

“I’ve always been the leader on the team I felt like. Everyone really trusts me, I trust the team, we all trust each other,” said Castor. “Everyone’s pretty much a leader on the team. If we keep leading each other we’ll get to where we want to go.”

One thing on the mind of castor, and every other player on this Lincoln North Star team is wanting to prove the doubters wrong, by playing their own brand of basketball.

“We want to just show out for everyone. We’re always getting doubted as a team,” said Castor. “Teams are saying we don’t know how to play basketball the right way. So, we want to show everyone that we can do that and win these games and let everyone know that we’re the real deal.”

Lincoln North star will play two games this upcoming week, starting with a home game Monday afternoon vs. Omaha Westview.

That game tips at 2:45.
