Aurora keeps undefeated season alive with win at Ashland-Greenwood

ASHLAND, Neb. (KLKN) – Ashland-Greenwood celebrated the 75th anniversary of its stadium Friday night, but Aurora celebrated a 33-14 win on a cool, windy night.

Players from the first team to play on the field gave the ball to the Ashland-Greenwood captains, then Aurora got things started with its star running back, Carlos Collazo.

He took it into the end zone to make it a 7-0 Huskies lead.

Later in the first quarter, the Blue Jays were looking to find some offense, and in the red zone, quarterback Dane Jacobson found Thomas Spears for the catch.

He was able to muscle around the defender and lunged into the end zone for the score, tying up the game at 7.

In the second quarter, the Huskies once again found Collazo.  He plowed into the end zone to put his team up 13-7.

Then the Blue Jays had possession, but on a botched option play, the Huskies ended up with 6 more points.

Jacobson tried to pitch it to Nathan Upton on a designed option, but Upton and fumbled the ball.  After a scrum for the ball, the Huskies’ Treshaun Beed picked it up and went into the end zone.

After a two-point conversion, Aurora led 21-7.

Later in the quarter, the Huskies find Collazo again, who made a big run down the field for a first down.  They would score a touchdown a few plays later, making the score 27-7.

Ashland-Greenwood would get another touchdown in the third quarter, but that was all they would get.

Aurora continued its win streak and got its first road win.
