Authorities arrest Lincoln man wanted for seven warrants following hours-long stalemate

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was arrested early Monday morning after a heavy police presence was spotted near downtown Lincoln.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Metro Area Fugitive Task Force team were camped outside a home near 10th and New Hampshire streets for nearly three hours.


Around 7 a.m., authorities ultimately found 28-year-old Gianni Phillips inside the home and arrested him without further incident, according to the sheriff’s office.

In total, the sheriff’s office said a total of seven warrants were served: operating a motor vehicle/avoiding arrest, MSD domestic assault, MSDs for resisting arrest, driving during revocation and attempt of a Class IV felony.

The sheriff’s office said nobody was injured during the incident.
