Authorities investigating death of woman who lived at rural Nebraska care facility
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Wymore Police Department said Wednesday that it is investigating the death of a woman who lived at an assisted living facility.
On Feb. 8, Adult Protective Services notified police of the 52-year-old woman’s death at a hospital in Lincoln.
“There were some claims in there made by the reporter — it was an anonymous report — that there was some stuff going on within the facility for medication distribution for this person,” Wymore Police Chief Bobby Martinez said.
The cause of death is unknown, and investigators are awaiting results from an autopsy.
Martinez said there is not currently a criminal investigation.
“We’re just kind of gathering information at this point,” he said.
Police said in a press release that they are working closely with the care facility’s administration to “ensure a thorough investigation.”
