Authorities investigating ‘suspicious fire’ in Gage County
Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed thousands of dollars in hay bales.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed thousands of dollars in hay bales.
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched around noon on Saturday to the fire near S. 23rd Rd. and East Spruce Rd. south of Wymore.
GCSO says the property owner told deputies he was checking on cattle in the area when he saw the bales on fire.
An initial investigation was completed and the state Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene.
Authorities say the flames destroyed approximately $3,200 in hay.
No injuries have been reported.
The fire remains under investigation.
