Autistic childcare center asking for donations for upcoming egg hunt

A childcare facility for children with autism is getting close to opening in Lincoln, but first they’re asking for help.
Heart In Hands Developmental Facility located near 33rd and O Streets is hosting a pancake feed and Easter egg hunt fundraiser.
The event is happening on Sunday, March 31 at Hillside Event in Denton. It kicks off at 11:30 with the first egg hunt beginning at 1 p.m.
The first egg hunt will be for children with limited mobility. Hunting will happen on a concrete slab outside Hillside Events so parents don’t have to worry about children falling or getting hurt.
Before the kids can start searching for eggs Heart In Hands is asking for donations.
“We are looking for volunteers for the day of the event as well as candy donations for our Easter egg hunt so we do have plenty of candy,” Kristi Layman, the founder of Heart In Hands, said.
Candy donations can be dropped off at Bryer Carpet and Blinds near 13th and South Streets.
Heart In Hands is also looking for people to sponsor the event to offset the costs.
Any money raised at the event will help fund the center and allow it to open.
