Awards stacking up for Husker pitcher Brett Sears

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska baseball pitcher Brett Sears has been stacking up the awards after a breakout 2024 season.
The American Baseball Coaches Association announced Friday that Sears earned second-team All-American honors.
This honor is the highest by an NU pitcher since Aaron Madsen in 2003.
Sears was also named second-team All-American by Perfect Game and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association earlier this week.

Prior to the All-American accolades, the senior was a first-team all-region selection and named the NCBWA District 6 Player of the Year earlier this month.
A semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and National Pitcher of the Year, Sears was the Big Ten’s Pitcher of the Year and a first-team All-Big Ten honoree.
The senior from Westphalia, Iowa, posted a 9-1 record with a 2.16 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 104 innings.
