Baby rabbits, birds and more getting stuck in deadly glue traps near Nebraska homes

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Nebraska nonprofit is sounding the alarm about glue traps that are severely injuring and even killing animals.

Nebraska Wildlife Rehab says it’s already received more than a dozen patients this year.  They include baby rabbits, birds, bats, snakes and more.

It’s been able to save some of the animals, but others have died from wounds suffered while trying to free themselves.

NWR says glue traps cause a prolonged and horrible death, so it’s asking people to not use them.

The nonprofit shared photos of a house sparrow it was able to save, but officials say he was lucky.

They’re helping him recover from feather damage and hope he’ll be able to fly again soon.
