LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Beatrice officials on Tuesday passed a mask mandate for the city.

The Beatrice Board of Health passed a motion to adopt a mask mandate for all indoor public facilities within the city limits.

The motion also requires patrons at bars and restaurants be be seated and limited to parties of eight or less, with no bar seating and no gaming allowed, and that while actively eating and drinking, no mask be required.

The mandate is effective immediately and lasts until Dec. 15.

“Each of us play an important part of slowing the spread of COVID-19,” a post from the city’s Facebook page said. “Together, we can keep our hospitals from being overrun, keep our kids in school as long as possible, and keep our city open for business.”
