Bellevue police help rescue raccoon that got its head stuck in a jar

Bellevue officers found themselves in a unique position to protect and serve a raccoon that was in a bind.

The department posted photos of the animal with its head stuck in a jar on its Facebook page Wednesday.

Two officers working the overnight shift were dispatched to a “disturbance,” but instead found the raccoon when they arrived, the post reads. The post appears to show bystanders helping the raccoon, and holding it in a hooded sweatshirt.

The officers were able to remove the jar and release the raccoon.

The raccoon did not report any injuries before leaving the scene, the post said.
