Below average stretch this week
Seems a few spots were favored from this last round of rain through Sunday. Northwest Nebraska saw a lot of rain, and set single-day records for rain for September 10th. Northeast and south central Nebraska also saw about a half inch of rain, if not more.
Unfortunately, not expecting a whole lot of rain in the next 10 days or so, either.
Recent moisture, and a deep layer of moisture through the atmosphere, created favorable conditions for some fog in areas this morning. Beware of this throughout the morning commute, especially north and west of Lincoln.
Expecting a very cool afternoon with highs in the lower 70s. Compared to Sunday, this is warmer for Kearney, but cooler for Lincoln. The high temperature was only 65° in Kearney on Sunday, while Lincoln reaching the low 80s!
Cool weather is the name of the game this week. While we’ll be about 10 degrees cooler than average on Monday, temperatures stay below average for the week. We’ll be anywhere from about 3-10 degrees cooler than we should be through the middle of September.
Overall, this next week looks to be very quiet. The next chance for precipitation looks to come by Friday, maybe late into Saturday. Timing of a front will play a role in that round, but we won’t see much until then.
There’s a lot to look forward for plans with the fall-like feels this week. The Apple Jack Festival along with some local pumpkin patches will be opening. Stay tuned for some pumpkin pickin’ forecasts to come soon!
