Bennet volunteer firefighter taken to hospital after being knocked down by explosion

Police are on the scene of what originally was a car fire near S 190th and Midway. When LSO and Bennet Rural Fire arrived on scene, they reported an explosion.
Officials say a Chevy Cruze was stuck and eventually over heated which may have caused the explosion, sending debris towards the volunteer firefighters.
Officials say a male volunteer firefighter with Bennet was knocked down from the explosion and taken to a Lincoln hospital.
The volunteer firefighter’s injuries are non-life threatening at this time. StarCare was en-route but has since been canceled.
We have a reporter on scene and will bring you more updates as they become available.
