Bicyclist suffers potentially life-threatening injuries in O Street crash, Lincoln police say

UPDATE, 10:25 a.m. — LPD is providing more information about the people involved in Thursday night’s crash between a car and a bike.

Police say the bicyclist who suffered potentially life-threatening injuries is a 34-year-old from Lincoln.

We’re told the driver is a Crete resident who’s 36-years-old.

 

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A bicyclist suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after getting hit by a car on O Street, according to authorities.

The Lincoln Police Department says they were struck by the vehicle while crossing the road at Northwest 17th Street.

It happened on Thursday around 5:40 p.m.

There is a stop sign in the area, but it doesn’t have a marked crosswalk.

Police say the driver wasn’t injured and has not been cited.

We’re also told the driver wasn’t impaired, but LPD believes the bicyclist had been drinking alcohol.
