Biden signs executive order on investing in Chinese companies
The order expands prohibitions on investments in Chinese companies involved in military surveillance.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – President Biden is targeting Chinese companies involved in military surveillance.
Thursday, the President signed an executive order prohibiting U.S. investments in nearly 60 companies.
The administration says the companies develop or use Chinese surveillance technology to facilitate serious human rights abuse and other security threats.
The order is an expansion of former President Donald Trump’s order banning Americans from investing in more than 30 firms owned or controlled by the Chinese military.
