Bishop Neumann claims Class C2 state championship

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Bishop Neumann took down Grand Island Central Catholic 35-17 on Tuesday.

Jack Van Slyke rushed for four touchdowns and 115 yards on the day. Two of Van Slyke’s TDs came in the fourth quarter.

Bishop Neumann claimed their first state title since 2003.

The Cavaliers avenge their title loss to Norfolk Catholic last season.

First-year head coach Joe Pavlik helped lead Bishop Neumann to a 12-1 record.
