Bit cooler with cloud cover for final September day

As September draws to a close today, these numbers aren’t expected to change all that much. Not a drop in the bucket is really expected for most, even with the added cloud cover this Tuesday.

Lincoln has fared really well in terms of ending the month above average for precipitation.

The monotonous weather pattern changes only slightly this final September day. Clouds will be around for most of the day and leave us just a *touch* cooler than in days past with less sunshine to see in eastern Nebraska.

Any green spots or precipitation trying to show up on radar today with these clouds is likely to evaporate before it hits the ground.

While a southerly breeze will be up around 10-20 mph, temperatures will warm to the upper 70s and lower 80s across Nebraska. This is still another day above average for all of us.

While it hasn’t felt like fall, it is starting to look more like fall with the colors of the trees. The latest fall foliage map shows that much of Nebraska is seeing patchy areas of more color.

By next week, western Nebraska and the Panhandle is expected to see more partial color before those peak reds, oranges and yellows are seen by the middle and end of October.
