Bit more of a breeze, clouds accompanying a couple more gorgeous fall days in Nebraska
After an incredible fall day in the 60s yesterday, we’ll warm closer to 70° this Wednesday after a cold morning. Temperatures have dropped as low as 40° in Lincoln early, making for our coldest start in five months (since May 4, 2025, when temperatures fell to 38°).
Temperatures in the lower 70s at this point in October are normal, and we’ll be quite close to that today.
More clouds will build in over central and western Nebraska by the afternoon, leaving mostly sunny skies over the Panhandle and eastern Nebraska.
Winds will start to increase more out of the south-southeast in the coming days. Peak wind gusts for the middle of the week will be up around 20-25 mph in southeast Nebraska.
Higher wind gusts are in the forecast for central and western Nebraska later. Namely in north-central Nebraska, wind gusts as high as 40 mph will be possible.
After a short break with light winds on Friday, winds here at home will be fairly gusty over this upcoming weekend.
That means more opportunities to cruise around in the car knowing we have this kind of weather. Wishing you many green lights in your future if you’re out car cruising!
Thursday will feature a bit more of a breeze in eastern Nebraska and more cloud cover. The atmosphere will remain dry to keep rain chances at a minimum.
For now, there may be small chances at rain by the early then late window of the weekend. Better rain chances look to come together early next week (October 13-15).
